Playing fair at Ironbark Estates
The same handful of rules the house has run on since the card hall opened behind the dining room.
Before you're seated
Everyone must be eighteen or over, with ID shown at the counter if age is in any doubt.
Supper and the card hall run on separate bookings — one does not carry over into the other.
Walk-ins for the felt are welcome when a table has room, though supper is best booked ahead.
Phones stay on silent through both rooms, and calls are best taken out on the street.
Once you're dealt in
Chips at the felt mark points only, are worth nothing outside the building, and are never sold or bought.
There is no poker machine anywhere on the property, and no cash bet is taken at any table, at any hour.
Nothing at Ironbark Estates is played online, and there is no app that connects to any table in the building.
House chips are never carried out through the front door and are always counted back in at the counter.
If a hand is called into question
The house dealer's call on a hand is final and is not reopened once the next hand has started.
Any disagreement is taken to the counter, not argued out at the table in front of other players.
A player asked to leave a table by the house dealer is expected to do so without further argument.
Feedback on the evening is always welcome at the counter, in writing, or by phone the next day.
House rules are reviewed from time to time and posted here before they take effect at the felt.
