The card hall

A closer look at the green baize

Six felt tables, a house dealer, and games that have run at Ironbark Estates for longer than most of the regulars can recall.

The felt

Six tables, six nights a week

The card hall sits behind the dining room under the old grain-floor beams, laid out with six felt tables spaced well apart from one another.

Five hundred takes the two busiest tables most nights, with euchre and crib filling the rest before a friendly poker table opens later in the evening.

A house dealer works each table once the room fills, and chips are issued from the counter for points only, never for cash.

  • Five Hundred

  • Euchre & Crib

The smaller tables, often the first to fill early

  • Friendly Poker

No buy-in, opening once supper service has quietened
