About the house

The people who keep Ironbark Estates running

Ironbark Estates is run out of the old grain store on Murphy Street by a small kitchen team and a longer-serving handful of house dealers.

Before the cards

A grain merchant's building, twice over

The merchant who built this store off Murphy Street kept his office in the front room, the same room where supper is now served most evenings.

When Ironbark Estates took the building over, most of the timber floor and the loading doors stayed put, and the card hall was fitted into the old grain floor behind them.

The kitchen team changed hands twice before settling into the short, valley-led menu it runs today, while the house dealers have mostly stayed the same for years.
